About this Site
The Issue at Hand
The Rec Path is one of the largest community projects Conway has ever considered. Its first section — Phase 1, from Hemlock Lane to Cranmore — was completed in 2023.
The debate now is whether Phase 2 should cross into Whitaker Woods, a property Chubby Whitaker conveyed to the Town of Conway in 1971 with strict preservation conditions.
Purpose
To bring the history, funding, and alignments of the Rec Path to one place.
To make public records, deeds, and newspaper coverage easy to find.
To clarify how the current Phase 2 plan differs from what voters originally
authorized in 2015.
